“The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence – it is to act with yesterday’s logic.”
– Peter Drucker
Friends and colleagues have called me a “rocket scientist” since I studied aerospace engineering in college. Even though I never worked a day in that field, there’s some truth to this label. Striving for continuous progress, forward thinking, and imagining new possibilities are traits needed to propel humanity to the stars, but instead, I now apply them to changing work here on Earth.
Today’s organizations are facing an accelerated rate of change that’s causing massive disruption, disengaged workforces, and unforeseen challenges. As unsettling as this may seem, I see it as an unprecedented opportunity for businesses that are willing to open themselves up to new possibilities. I can help organizations envision their place in this new landscape, helping to navigate the uncertainty and provide clarity to new strategic directions.
Prior to starting Future|Shift Consulting in early 2016, I worked within organizations for 25 years driving small and large scale changes through expertise in communications and change management, and a mix of skills that also includes social collaboration strategy, leadership coaching, and group facilitation. I spent the majority of my career on internal initiatives ranging from adoptions of new systems, processes, and policies to organizational restructurings and people-development efforts, but have also worked on the marketing side of business to help build brand identities. People have described me as trustworthy, personable, fair, authentic, caring, open-minded, excellent communicator, and big picture thinker. My background also includes:
I am a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, which is an approach that focuses on the people side of change.
Co-founded Change Agents Worldwide, a network of independent and enterprise-based professionals passionate about Future of Work technologies and practices.
Serving for over five years on the Board of Directors of the NJ Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in various roles, including President.
I hold a Master of Science in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, NJ) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY), where I specialized in the aerospace field.
I live in Verona, NJ with my wife and two kids (girl and boy) and our crazy hound Pinwheel.
